The Reunion is Coming! The Reunion is Coming!
"One if by land, and two if by sea, and I on the opposite shore will be..." a little shout out to any US History buffs out there. For the first five of you who can identify the source of this statement, the district office will send you two commemorative SacNaz coasters for being a faithful reader (respond to kpeoples@sacnaz.org).
Speaking of The Reunion, I'm looking forward to sharing this special event with the Sacramento District Family, April 25-27, at the Auburn Parkside Church. I hope you will be able to be with us, which you can read more about at https://www.sacnaz.org/. Please join me in praying for our leadership team as we prepare to come together for worship, fellowship, and vision. I hope you will have representation from your church for the night of worship & D.S. Reception, the District Assembly & Ordination Service, AND, the Missions (NMI) and Youth (NYI) Conventions.
I will be sharing my 18th and final report as District Superintendent, and I will also be voting with you in anticipation of a new Sacramento District Superintendent. I'm confident that it's all in God's hands. I am also looking forward to viewing the 60 second "selfie" reports from our senior/lead pastors as they share a vision for their local communities. And of course, we will welcome our newest General Superintendent, Dr. Christian Sarmiento, including food and special coffee, for all of our delegates AND guests!!
I have recently been dwelling on John 15:16: "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit; fruit that will last." I am so grateful for the honor of having served as D.S., pastor, and youth pastor on this district since 1987. I am anticipating "what's next" for how I can serve through our church and my local community. When we go and bear fruit, according to Jesus, we engage in fruit that will last. I am looking forward to discovering how this will play out in my life, and yours.
Bless you dear friends, I am honored to continue serving with you all!
Steve Scott
