Sacramento District Church of the Nazarene / 2007
1. A local church, or an individual within a local church, establishes a vision for a
new ministry/church in a community
2. Consideration is given to sharing the vision with other churches in proximity to
a target area who may want to partner with the host church/ministry
3. A local church/ministry creates an action plan for their vision, which includes
(assuming it is all bathed in prayer):
- - the focus of the new ministry
- - the projected outcome of such a new ministry on the local community
in mind
- - the professional assessment of those who will be in pastoral leadership
of this new ministry to confirm their spiritual gifting & capabilities
- - the development of a core team of gifted, effective leaders who will
unite with ministry leadership/pastors in sharing the vision
- - professional training completed by both the pastoral leadership and
leadership core of the new ministry
- - the identification of who the host church/churches will be who will ultimately sponsor/birth/nurture/raise this new ministry
- - the development of financial resources
- - a strategic plan for the kinds of ministries/impact which will be the
identity of this new ministry
- - the establishment of an objective source of accountability within the host church/churches
(not necessarily a set order - there will be some overlap and some additional ingredients
depending on the uniqueness of the proposal)
4. The leadership team of the local church related to the new ministry meets
with the District Advisory Board at strategic places throughout the
creation of the action plan
5. The potential for district financial assistance, the amount, and the time line are
all contingent on a clearly defined action plan that is both completed as
well as adjusted accordingly when needed throughout the process.
